About the Event
In order to provide Mandarin-speaking community members in Calgary a place to gather and socialize with one another in their native language, the Mandarin Group was established. Prior to the pandemic, group members used to gather in the office location to read some newspapers, chatter away and sip on some tea made in the office kitchen.
During the pandemic, the Mandarin Group has migrated to virtual Zoom sessions, where group members drop by to meet people from all walks of life, share conversations in their native tongue (or not!), and exchange stories about their experiences in Canada. Diversecities encourages participants to expand and maintain their social networks after initial relationships are established.
