How the program supports the Children & Youth?

Our After-School Programs are important for child and youth social, emotional, cognitive, and academic development, as well as for reducing risky behaviours, promoting physical health, and providing a safe environment. They emphasize Social/Emotional Learning (SEL), academic skill development, life skills, and building resilience which assists children in developing healthy identities, managing emotions, achieving personal and collective goals, demonstrating empathy, developing supportive relationships, and making responsible and sensible decisions in life. These programs are enjoyable and provide numerous exceptional educational opportunities.

Children and youth participating in after-school programs form relationships with others, fostering a sense of community and belonging. At Diversecities, we believe fostering a child's sense of belonging and community is important to support their mental health and overall well-being.

Also, The Afterschool Program seeks to connect newcomer children and youth to various resources and information on adjusting to their new environment. We aim to assist each child and youth in achieving personal success and increasing their involvement in school and community.

Our Programs and Services

Diversecities' Kids After-School Program is designed for children in grades 1-6, providing a safe environment for learning new skills, participating in activities, and making new friends.
